49ers get some revenge, holding off the Redskins for a 37-31 win on MNF.

Still bitter from losing to Washington in the NFC Championship Game, San Francisco attempts to bury the Redskins early. The 49ers run out to a 27-0 lead in the 1st half before Washington's offense awakens.

Joe Montana throws for 381 yards and 2 TDs, and runs for another. Montana's 15-yard TD pass to Dwight Clark late in the 1st half gives San Francisco its 27-0 lead. After Washington gets a FG just before halftime, the Redskins cut the lead to 27-17 in the 3rd quarter and then the 49ers offense is forced to outscore Washington in the 4th quarter.

Sab Francisco rolls up 534 total yards, but the Redskins also gain 371 yards with Art Monk catching 10 passes for 200 yards.
