Pittsburgh intercepts Pat Ryan 3 times, forces him into a fumble and records 5 sacks to stymie New York's attack. The Steelers are steady if unspectacular on offense with David Woodley throwing for a pair of TDs.

The Jets take a 14-13 lead when Bobby Humphrey returns the 2nd half kickoff 97 yards for a TD. However, Pittsburgh answers on the ensuing possession, regaining the lead on Woodley's 3-yard TD toss to Weegie Thompson.
