Dallas gets the last laugh on Joe Theismann's 36th birthday, turning it into a nightmare performance, picking off the Washington QB 5 times. Victor Scott returns the final INT for a score, and Dennis Thurman picks Theismann's replacement, Jay Schroeder, and returns it for a TD as well.

The Cowboys lead 10-7 late in the 1st half when another mistake bites Washington as the Redskins turn the ball back over to Dallas with less than a minute to play, and Danny White hits Mike Renfro for a 55-yard TD pass. Renfro catches 5 passes for 99 yards while Tony Dorsett rushes for 70 yards, and a 9-yard TD run that opens a 30-7 lead for Dallas in the 3rd quarter.
