Cowboys rally to beat the Giants 31-28 in the MNF opener.

Herschel Walker makes a dramatic NFL debut, scoring the winning TD on a 10-yard draw in the final 2 minutes. Walker rushes for 64 yards and 2 TDs on 10 carries as to power Dallas in a back-and-forth battle.

Dallas jumps out to a 14-0 lead in the 2nd quarter, before New York rallies to tie it on the 1st 2 of Phil Simms' 3 TD passes. Danny White answers a 2-yard TD run by Joe Morris, with a 1-yard TD pass to Thornton Chandler to give the Cowboys a 24-21 lead in the 4th quarter, but Bobby Johnson makes a juggling catch and then out-manuevers Ron Fellows to score a 44-yard TD pass midway through the 4th quarter.

Simms throws for 300 yards, but New York's defense is unable to stop Walker and Tony Hill, who makes a big catch to set up the winning score. Hill has all 5 of his catches for 107 yards in the 4th quarter.
