Game Notes

Lions get the last kick and laugh in a 13-11 win over the Eagles.

Eddie Murray's 41-yard FG w/ :12 left lifts Detroit to the victory in a battle of futile QB play. The Lions get a reprieve after a potential game-ending INT, when Randall Cunningham fumbles on a schoolyard scramble play with just under 2 minutes to play. Detroit gets a penalty and a few short runs to set up the winning kick.

The Lions get the game's lone TD when Joe Ferguson hits Jeff Chadwick for a 72-yard TD pass in the 1st quarter. It's his lone highlight as he struggles, completing just 10-of-33, at one point being 6-of-26 before a late 'hot streak.'

Meanwhile, Cunningham is sacked 11 times, and tosses 3 INTs in addition to his costly fumble. He does run for 110 yards, but Philadelphia is unable to mount any consistent offense, and settles for 2 FGs on 3 attempts, but does take the lead late in the game when a 42-yard run by Anthony Toney sparks a drive for Paul McFadden's 2nd FG.
