Houston outgains Detroit 454 to 234 yards but commits 4 turnovers undermining its chances. James Jones runs for 76 yards and 2 TDs to carry the Lions' attack.

Jones puts Detroit ahead 14-3 in the 2nd quarter with a pair of 1-yard TD runs. The Oilers answer with an 81-yard TD pass from Warren Moon to Drew Hill, but the air show fizzles in the 2nd half. The Lions stretch their lead to 21-13 on Eric Hipple's 18-yard TD pass to Herman Hunter.
