San Diego outplays Washington, but sees victory snatched away on 2 passes from Jay Schroeder to Gary Clark in the final 2 minutes. Schroeder hits Clark with a 55-yard pass, setting up a 14-yard TD pass on the next play w/ 1:15 left.

The Chargers had opened a 21-3 lead in the 1st half before the Redskins start chipping away. Dan Fouts throws for 235 yards and 1 TD, but also abets Washington's comeback with 3 INTs. Art Monk has 7 catches for 174 yards while Clark has 6 for 144 yards.
