Lions upset the Cowboys 27-17.

Detroit doubles its win total for the season as Dallas turns it over 5 times and tumbles. Chuck Long throws for 217 yards and a 20-yard TD pass to Rob Rubick in the 1st quarter to give the Lions a 10-0 lead.

The Cowboys spend the game playing catchup, and each time they do, Detroit answers. After Timmy Newsome's 24-yard TD run ties it 17-17 early in the 4th quarter, the Lions answer with Garry James' 4-yard TD run to take the lead for good.
