Cowboys ruin Cardinals desert debut 17-14 on MNF.

Dallas denies Phoenix victory in its 1st home game since relocating from St. Louis with the help of a curious play call. With :03 left in the 1st half and trailing 10-7, the Cardinals line up for a 42-yard FG, but attempt a fake with the idea that kicker Al Del Greco would somehow outrun the Cowboys from such a long distance in a TD-or-bust situation.

Phoenix cuts a 17-7 deficit to 3 points when Neil Lomax hits Jay Novacek with a 23-yard TD pass in the 4th quarter, but the Cardinals are unable to get the ball back as Dallas grinds out the remaining clock behind Herschel Walker. Walker rushes for 149 yards and a TD.
