Game Notes

Rams beat the Chargers 30-24.

Los Angeles makes the plays when needed to offset San Diego. The Rams' defense gives up 387 total yards, but produces a critical play when Kevin Greene tackles Marion Butts in the end zone for a safety on the final play of the 1st half to take a 16-14 lead.

The 2 points prove critical after Robert Delpino's 1-yard TD run to start the 3rd quarter, giving Los Angeles a 9-point cushion to hold off the Chargers. John Friesz throws for 307 yards and 2 TDs with Anthony Miller catching 7 for 149 yards, including a 30-yard TD. However, the Rams have a productive connection between Jim Everett and backup TE Jim Price, who combine on a pair of TD passes.
