Game Notes

Bears' last-minute heroics deliver 19-13 win over the Jets in OT.

Chicago ties the game on the final play of regulation and then wins it on Jim Harbaugh's 1-yard sneak with :18 left in the overtime period. New York had led 13-3 in the 4th quarter, but the Bears follow a Kevin Butler FG with a 5-yard TD pass from Harbaugh to Neal Anderson as time runs out in regulation.

New York appeared to have the game in hand with the ball and Chicago out of timeouts, but Steve McMichael strips Blair Thomas of the football w/ 1:52 left allowing the Bears a final chance after a personal foul had appeared to give the Jets an easy finish, or as Al Michaels states only 'disaster' could prevent the Jets from a happy flight home. But disaster strikes.

Pat Leahy hooks a 28-yard FG attempt on New York's 2nd possession in OT after the Jets elected to kick on 1st down. The Bears take over with 3:50 left in OT and reach deep into New York territory when Harbaugh hits Cap Boso with a 23-yard pass that originally was declared the winning TD w/ 35 seconds left in OT. However, replay review ruled Boso down at the 1-yard setting the stage for Harbaugh's sneak.
