Phoenix starts fast and puts away Atlanta in the final games for coaches Joe Bugel and Jerry Glanville. Bugel claims the final win before their firing thanks to a big offensive output led by Steve Beuerlein.

Beuerlein sets a franchise-record, completing his 1st 14 passes and finishes 27-of-33 for 278 yards and 3 TDs. Beuerlein hits Randal Hill for a pair of TD passes in the 1st half as the Cardinals open a 17-3 lead. Ron Moore adds 96 yards rushing, becoming the first Cardinals' rookie since 1979 to top the 1,000-yard mark.
