Cleveland withstands a late rally, stopping Dallas at the 1-yard line on the final play to preserve the victory. The Browns had led 16-7 before Emmitt Smith scores on a 4-yard TD run w/ 6:21 left. After Cleveland stretched the lead to 19-14 on Matt Stover's 4th FG, the Cowboys rally with Troy AIkman hitting Jay Novacek as time is running out, but Eric Turner tackles Novacek at the 1 as the clock runs out.

Cleveland answered an Aikman-to-Smith TD pass in the 1st quarter with a 2-yard TD pass from Vinny Testaverde to Michael Jackson and then took the lead on Stover's 1st FG, in the 2nd quarter. The Browns hang on to the lead from then on with the help of 4 turnovers.
