The Falcons go up 10-0 in the 1st quarter when Alton Montgomery picks off Scott Mitchell and returns it 71 yards for a TD. George then hits Eric Metcalf for a 7-yard TD pass and Craig Heyward scores the 1st of his 2 TD runs for a 27-0 lead in the 2nd quarter.

The Lions creep back into the game as Mitchell throws for 321 yards and 2 TDs with Herman Moore catching 9 passes for 176 yards.
