Game Notes

Giants hold off the Cardinals for 16-8 win.

Defense reigns for New York, keeping Arizona out of the end zone until Boomer Esiason's 7-yard TD pass to Frank Sanders, and 2-point conversion with :40 left. The Giants hold the Cardinals to just 245 yards offense, just 159 before the final drive.

New York loses starting QB Dave Brown to injury early, but put together enough offense through the running of Rodney Hampton, kicking of Brad Daluiso and a big completion by Danny Kanell. Hampton rushes for 91 yards and Daluiso kicks 3 FGs. Clinging to a 6-0 lead in the 4th quarter, Kanell hooks up with Thomas Lewis for a 24-yard TD pass.
