Game Notes

Packers turn back the Bears 38-24 on MNF.

Green Bay overcomes a strong start by Chicago and finds its offense late in the 1st half before pulling away. The Packers trail 8-3 until Brett Favre's 1-yard TD pass to Jeff Thomason and a 2-point conversion. Favre then hits Robert Brooks with an 18-yard TD pass just before halftime after the Bears had tied it 11-11.

Favre finishes 15-of-22 for 226 yards and 2 TDs while Dorsey Levens rushes for 80 yards and 1 TD. Levens' 1-yard TD run early in the 4th quarter opens a 31-11 lead. After Chicago answers with a 22-yard TD pass from Erik Kramer to Ricky Proehl, the Packers are able to put the game away when Gabe Wilkins recovers a fumble and returns it 1 yard for a TD w/ 2:43 left.
