Washington turns away a rally by Dallas to take over 1st place in the NFC East. The Redskins build a 21-3 lead and then fend off the Cowboys with a solid run defense and harassing pass rush.

Stephen Davis steps in when Terry Allen is sidelined early and rushes for 94 yards and 2 TDs. Gus Frerotte's 13-yard TD pass to James Jenkins gives Washington a 14-3 half time lead, and Davis' 4-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter extends the lead.
