Dallas' late rally holds up when Tommy Hutton mishandles a snap on a chip-shot FG attempt on the final play. The Cowboys finally found the end zone with 1 minute to play when Anthony Miller corrals a tipped Troy Aikman pass in the end zone for a 14-yard TD pass.

Dallas had been forced to settle for 5 FGs, while the Eagles convert a fumble into a 37-yard TD return by William Thomas. Ty Detmer's 12-yard TD pass to Chad Lewis gives Philadelphia a 17-3 lead in the 2nd quarter, but the Cowboys slowly chip away with 5 FGs by Richie Cunningham.
