San Francisco turns in a dominating performance to win its 6th straight after dropping the season opener. Steve Young throws for 223 yards and 3 TDs as the 49ers are never challenged by St. Louis.

After Young's 10-yard TD pass to Greg Clark gives San Francisco a 14-0 lead, the 49ers are driving for another score when Ryan McNeil picks off Young and returns it 75 yards for a TD and the Rams' lone glimmer of hope. But the hope fades as the 49ers defense smothers St. Louis' attack, holding it to just 113 total yards, 69 coming on 1 play, and forces 3 turnovers.
