San Francisco recovers from a blowout loss at Kansas City, and overcomes, wet and muddy conditions to hand Minnesota its 4th straight loss. Steve Young hits 20-of-25 for 280 yards and 2 TDs, while running for another score.

The 49ers jump in front quickly, going up 14-0 on Young's 16-yard TD pass to Terry Kirby and William Floyd's 1-yard TD run. The Vikings close within 21-14, but Young scores on a 4-yard rollout in the 3rd quarter to give San Francisco control. The 49ers' defense holds the lead, led by Chris Doleman, who sacks Randall Cunningham 3 1/2 times.
