Minnesota @ Tampa Bay

Network: FOX
Announcers: Dick Stockton, Matt Millen
Format: DVD (3 disks)
Quality: 8.0
Notes: Halftime and commercials edited out... Starts with opening kickoff going through the end zone... This is ridiculously tightly (i.e. stupidly) edited, studio updates edited out... another kickoff is joined at its conclusion and several plays are joined in progress because the original recorder seemed obsessed with making the recording as short as possible (its approx. 97 minutes)... Grade would be 8.25 if not for the bad editing and JIP plays.

Game Notes

Vikings hang on for a 10-6 win over the Bucs.

Minnesota withstands a 4th quarter rally by Tampa Bay. After Trent Dilfer's 2-yard TD pass to Reidel Anthony, Michael Husted misses the PAT forcing the Bucs to score a TD on its final drive, but the drive dies on Dilfer's pass into the end zone on the final play.

The Vikings' defense saves the day, shutting down the Bucs' running game. Meanwhile, Minnesota gets a fortunate break on offense when Charles Evans is ruled to have broken the goalline for a 1-yard TD run on 3rd down, giving the Vikings a 10-0 lead. Replays showed Evans was well shy of the plane.

Brad Johnson carries the Vikings' attack, hitting 20-of-29 for 230 yards.
