49ers beat the Jets 36-30 in OT.

San Francisco wins it on Garrison Hearst's 96-yard burst, the longest in franchise history after New York rallied late to force OT. The Jets answered the 49ers' go-ahead TD on a 31-yard pass from Steve Young to J.J. Stokes w/ 1:32 left with a 31-yard FG by John Hall w/ :03 remaining to send the game to OT.

After New York pinned San Francisco deep with a punt in OT, Hearst cut through the line, breaking tackles before sprinting down the sideline for the winning score. Hearst finished with 187 yards and 2 TDs rushing. Young throws for 363 yards and 3 TDs.

The Jets almost pull off the upset as Glenn Foley lights up the 49ers' secondary for 415 yards and 3 TDs, hitting Keyshawn Johnson 9 times for 126 yards and 2 TDs. Wayne Chrebet adds 6 catches for 125 yards and 1 TD.
