The Oilers get a lift from backup QB Dave Krieg, who takes over after Steve McNair suffers an elbow injury in the 1st half. Krieg guides Tennessee to 3 scoring drives in the 2nd half while the defense stops Cincinnati's rallies.

McNair had given the Oilers a 10-7 lead with an 8-yard TD pass to Willie Davis in the 2nd quarter. Eddie George, who rushes for 86 yards, pushes the lead to 17-7 with a 3-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter and Al Del Greco hits 2 of 3 4th quarter FG attempts.
