Cincinnati and Cleveland renew their rivalry with a stunning rally by the Bengals and 1st-time starter Akili Smith. Smith lofts a 2-yard TD pass to Carl Pickens with :05 left to win it, capping an 80-yard drive.

Smith goes 25-of-42 for 221 yards and 2 TDs. The Browns lead 14-6 after a fake FG 4-yard TD run by Phil Dawson and 1-yard TD run by Terry Kirby. However, Smith draws Cincinnati within 14-12 at the half with the 1st of 2 TD passes to Pickens.
