Game Notes

Titans recover to beat the Bengals 36-35.

Tennessee is able to christen its new name and stadium with a win after rallying following 28 straight points by Cincinnati that erases a 26-7 Titans' lead. Al Del Greco's 33-yard FG w/ :08 wins it.

Tennessee jumped in front 26-7 on the strength of 2 Steve McNair-to-Kevin Dyson TD passes and a McNair TD run. However, the Bengals score a pair of TDs in the final 2 minutes of the 1st half and then take a 29-26 lead on Jeff Blake's 17-yard TD pass to Willie Jackson early in the 3rd.

Cincinnati pushes the lead to 35-26 with 2 FGs before the Titans stage a late rally. McNair, who throws for 341 yards, draws Tennessee within 35-33 on a 17-yard TD pass to Eddie George with 4:33 to play and then guides the Titans on a 34-yard drive to set up the game-winning FG on the next series.
