Patriots hold off the Broncos for 24-23 win.

New England captures its 1st win over Denver since 1980 when Jason Elam's 59-yard FG attempt in the final minute misses wide and short. The Broncos had rallied from down 24-13 to have a chance, but in the end were effected by a decision to kick the PAT after Brian Griese's 7-yard TD run early in the 4th quarter. Instead of attempting a 2-point conversion to pull within 3, Denver kicked the PAT to remain down 24-20.

The Patriots opened the game with a rarely-seen running game. Terry Allen rushes for 106 yards and 2 TDs before departing with a concussion. Allen's big game came after New England's running game had been near invisible.
