Game Notes

Patriots get defensive, beat Cowboys 13-6.

New England stays in the playoff hunt by holding Dallas to just 203 yards and 2 FGs despite two interceptions by Drew Bledsoe that denies one scoring threat and sets up one score for the Cowboys. The Patriots struggle to a 6-3 lead before mounting one strong TD drive in the 4th quarter.

Terry Allen caps a 65-yard drive with a 3-yard TD run to lift New England in front 13-3. Dallas is able to answer with its best drive, but is forced to settle for a 34-yard FG by Richie Cunningham w/ 2:50 left. However, the Patriots are able to run out the clock to seal the win.

Emmitt Smith rushes for 75 yards, surpassing the 1,000-yard mark for the 9th straight season, just one shy of Barry Sanders' NFL record.
