Miami overcomes 2 INT returns for a TD giving New England an early 14-0 lead and the loss of Dan Marino. Marino's 1st pass is picked off and returned for a score by Andy Katzenmoyer and then 2 series into the game, he departs after being unable to overcome the sore shoulder he started with.

Damon Huard replaces Marino and is promptly picked on his 1st series, with Ty Law returning it 27 yards for a score less than halfway through the 1st quarter. However, Huard continues to battle back despite being sacked 9 times. In the end, Huard hits Stanley Pritchett for a 5-yard TD pass w/ :23 left. Huard goes 24-of-42 for 240 yards and 2 TDs.
