Carolina withstands a 4th quarter rally by Atlanta, making a pair of defensive stops in the closing minutes after a 20-point lead is cut to 6 points. The big stop comes with just over 2 minutes left when Kevin Greene sacks Chris Chandler, forcing a fumble after the Falcons had reached the Carolina 25.

Steve Beuerlein throws for 262 yards and 3 TDs. After Atlanta had taken a 14-13 lead with less than a minute left in the 1st half, Beuerlein hits Patrick Jeffers with a 1-yard TD pass w/ :04 left in the 1st half to take the lead for good. Chandler throws for 315 yards and 4 TDs.
