Cardinals hold off the Lions for 23-19 upset.

Arizona makes a late stand breaking up a 4th down pass at the goal line in the final minute to stop a Detroit rally. The Lions had trailed 23-13 until Terry Fair returns a fumble for a TD late in the game. Detroit gets a final possession but stalls inside the Cardinals' 20.

Arizona manages to shred the Lions' defense for 159 yards and 2 TDs on the ground after being without much running game during a 2-6 start. Chris Jacke adds 3 FGs for the Cardinals. Meanwhile, Detroit is hurt by a decision to go for 2 twice, failing on both forcing the Lions to require a TD rather than a FG at the end.
