Saints beat the Panthers 19-10.

Ricky Williams' debut turns out to be a shortened one after he injures an ankle at the end of the 1st quarter, and finishes with just 40 yards on 10 carries. However, New Orleans comes up with the big plays to sink Carolina.

The Saints strike fast when Tyronne Drakeford returns a fumble on the opening kickoff for a TD. After the Panthers draw even before halftime, New Orleans dominates the 2nd half. The Saints sack Steve Beuerlein 7 times, and Billy Joe Hobert hits Keith Poole for a 67-yard TD pass.
