Tampa Bay withstands a late rally by Minnesota to move into a 1st place tie as Shawn King makes a victorious starting debut. King converts a low-risk game plan into a pair of 2nd half TD passes to give the Bucs a 24-14 lead. King goes 11-of-19 for 93 yards.

Tampa Bay jumps in front quickly as Donnie Abraham picks off Jeff George on the 3rd play of the game and returns it 55 yards for a TD, helping to build a 10-0 lead. The Vikings answer and lead until King hits Jacquez Green with a 29-yard TD pass in the 3rd quarter. King's 1-yard TD pass to Dave Moore early in the 4th quarter stretches the lead to 24-14.

The Bucs are able to win despite being outgained 339-to-190.
