Vikings hold on for a 17-14 win over the Falcons.

Minnesota opens a 17-0 lead in the 2nd quarter and then stalls Atlanta's rally after the Vikings' offense goes stagnant, to avenge the upset in the 1998 NFC Championship game.

Minnesota strikes first with a 2-yard TD pass from Randall Cunningham to Cris Carter, and then extends it to 17-0 after converting a long pass interference into a short TD run. The Falcons capitalize on a soft defense to get on the board with Chris Chandler's 23-yard TD pass to Chris Calloway just before halftime. Atlanta draws within 3 on Bob Christian's 1-yard TD run in the 4th quarter, but Morten Anderson hooks a 39-yard FG attempt that would have tied the score.
