Game Notes

Bucs polish off the Eagles, Veterans Stadium with a 27-10 victory.

Tampa Bay erases its history of futility at the Vet, beating Philadelphia in the final game at the stadium to advance to its 1st Super Bowl. Brad Johnson throws for 259 yards and 1 TD, while the defense holds the Eagles to a FG from the 3rd play on.

Duce Staley scores on a 20-yard run, just 2 plays after Brian Mitchell's 70-yard return of the opening kickoff. However, the momentum shifts to Tampa Bay and stays that way. Following a FG, the Bucs go ahead on Mike Alstott's 1-yard TD run set up by Joe Jurevicius' 71-yard catch and run.

The Eagles draw even, but Tampa Bay takes the lead before halftime on Johnson's 9-yard TD pass.

The Bucs' defense forces 3 turnovers, including the clinching one, when Rhode Barber picks off Donovan McNabb and returns it 92 yards for a 27-10 lead late in the 4th quarter.
