Dolphins rout the Chargers 34-13.

There's no drama or comeback in the rematch of the 1981 playoff classic between San Diego and Miami. Unlike the Chargers a year before, the Dolphins don't allow a rally after taking a big early lead as they answer each San Diego score.

Miami opens a 24-0 lead after successive kickoff returns end in fumbles, setting up TDs. After the Chargers get on the board in the 2nd quarter, a 53-yard strike from David Woodley to Jimmy Cefalo sets up a FG for a 27-6 lead.

Woodley manages to steal the spotlight from San Diego's vaunted attack, hitting 17-of-22 for 195 yards and 2 TDs. Meanwhile, Dan Fouts is picked off 5 times as the Chargers commit 7 turnovers.
