Stephen Davis runs for 119 yards before departing with an injury in the 2nd quarter, and rushes for TDs on the Redskins' 1st 2 drives as they score on each of their 1st 4 possessions to open a 20-0 lead.

After punting on its 5th possession, Washington caps the 1st half with an 82-yard drive finished by Brad Johnson's 30-yard TD pass to Albert Connell. The Lions are unable to mount an offense until the closing minutes after Ron Rice returns a blocked FG 94 yards for a TD to get on the scoreboard ahead of a offensive TD on the final play of the game.
