Oilers shut down the Dolphins in a physical 17-9 win.

Houston outgains Miami 455-to-209, though needs a 4th quarter finish to win it. Tied 7-7, the Oilers get a 35-yard FG from Toni Fritsch in the 4th quarter, and then Earl Campbell follows an INT by Gregg Bingham with a 1-yard TD run, capping a 52-yard drive that milks much of the clock.

Campbell rushes for 84 yards despite being held to 15 in the 1st half. However, banged up Dante Pastorini lights up the Miami defense, hitting 20-of-30 passes for 306 yards. After Bob Griese gets Miami in front with a 13-yard TD pass to Andre Tillman in the 1st quarter, Pastorini answers with a 13-yard TD pass to Tim Wilson.
