Game Notes

Seahawks stun the Dolphins 27-20.

Seattle rallies after losing the lead late and upends heavy favorite Miami to advance to the AFC Championship. After the Dolphins took a 20-17 lead on Woody Bennett's 3-yard TD run late in the 4th quarter, the Seahawks answer with a quick drive capped by Curt Warner's 2-yard TD run.

Seattle then converts Miami's 4th of 5 turnovers, one of Fulton Walkers' 2 fumbles on kickoff returns, into an insurance FG by Norm Johnson. Warner finishes with 113 yards and 2 TDs on 29 carries. He also adds 5 catches for 38 yards.

The Dolphins had taken a 6-0 lead on the 1st of Dan Marino's 2 TD passes, but then the Seahawks score 17 of the next 24 points to build a 17-13 lead into the closing minutes of the game.
